5th Grade—Keyboarding
Alphabetic & Symbols—develop touch
typing skills
6th Grade—Keyboarding
Reinforce Skills—begin formatting
7TH Grade—Keyboarding
Applications (1 year)
A course
designed for students to reinforce touch techniques and proper
keystroking while continuing to develop composition and proofreading
skills as well as speed and accuracy. Student will demonstrate
keyboarding proficiency in document formatting (letters, reports,
tables) and word processing features.
8th Grade—Exploratory
Business (1 year)
A middle-level course designed to give
students an overview of the Business, Marketing and Management Career
Field and Clusters. Students will begin the study of personal money
management, basic business concepts, entrepreneurship concepts, and the
role of business in our society.
9th Grade—Business
Information Technology Applications I/Business Finance--required for
graduation (1 year)
Students will demonstrate basic skills
in the areas of word processing, spreadsheet applications, and
electronic presentations. This course also introduces principles of
business and management. Topics include personal finance, short- and
long-term budgetary plans, making business decisions savings, investing,
borrowing, risk management and retirement.

To Business, Marketing and Management. (1 year)
A course designed to give students an
overview of the Business, Marketing and Management Career Field. This
course is designed as an introductory study of business. Units of study
include scope and function of business and economic system, forms of
business ownership, legal and ethical issues in business and business
career opportunities.
11th, 12th
Business Information Technology Applications II (1 year) (Business Information
Tech App I required) (Art I recommended)
Students will develop proficiency in
adv. spreadsheet, database management, desktop publishing, photo
editing, digital design and web design. Students will demonstrate
knowledge of Internet security issues, ethical issues pertaining to
information systems and virus protection techniques.
11th, 12th
Grade—Entrepreneurship (1 year)(Intro. To Business, Marketing and
Management recommended)
A course
for students with a career interest in entrepreneurship. Emphases is
placed on the skills needed to plan, organize, finance, and operate an
entrepreneurial enterprise. Instructional strategies will include the
development of a business plan.
11th 12th
Grade—Accounting (1 year) (Algebra I required)
The study
of the fundamental principles involved in the preparation and
maintenance of financial records concerned with business management and
operations. The course is a comprehensive introduction to basic
financial accounting including recording, summarizing and reporting,
principles of income measurement and asset valuation, accounting systems
and controls.
