Classroom guidance will take
place at all grade levels once a week. Objectives covered include:
character building, social skills, bully awareness, drug education,
healthy choices/lifestyles, and goal setting to name a few. The
counseling position also assists in the testing process. GORT
(reading), DIBELS (reading), and NWEA (language, reading, and math)
testing are all tests that the counselor administers. Additional
duties of the counselor include: Student Council, Student Assistance
Team, Red Ribbon Week Facilitator, and 504 coordinator. I (the counseling department) would like to emphasize that there is an open door policy for staff, students, and parents. I am available to discuss problem solving, crisis management, and general discussions of school and personal issues.
