High School Band
The Mitchell Tiger Band is open to 9th-12th Grade students and meets during 1st Hour daily. The core ensemble of the Mitchell Tiger Band is Concert Band. In this ensemble, students learn techniques and skills to perform with excellence on their instrument and perform at Mitchell Public School's Veteran's Day program, Christmas concert, Winter concert, Spring concert and District Music Competition. Periodically, this group will travel to well-known cities to show off their teamwork and become more personally cultured. The Tiger Marching Band represents the community of Mitchell when performing at parades across the panhandle. This routinely Superior scoring platoon marches in the Scotts Bluff County parade in Mitchell and rotates other marching festivals including Ogallala, Sidney, Bridgeport, Lodgepole and Scottsbluff. Come to any home football or basketball game and the Tiger Pep Band will be playing. Performing songs from the Beatles and STYX to Taylor Swift and The White Stripes, the Tiger Pep Band energizes the home team and crowd.

Jazz Band
The Tiger Jazz Band meets on Tuesday and Thursday during 9th Hour. This auditioned group plays a wide variety of styles including pop, funk, swing and rock and consistently scores "Superior" at competition. Students must be a part of High School Concert Band to be eligible to audition for this elite group of musicians.

Junior High Band
Junior High Band is open to 7th and 8th Grade student in Mitchell and serves as a bridge between Beginning Band (6th Grade) and High School Band. The Junior High Band season begins immediately with Marching Band at the beginning of school in August. Junior High currently marches in Scottsbluff's Old West Weekend Marching Competition annually. Junior High Concert Band follows Marching season and performs a Christmas concert, Winter concert and Spring concert.

Individual Music Lessons
Any student wanting to improve his/her skill instrumentally or vocally may take this class for individualized lessons with Mr. Boehr during the school day. This class is tailored toward the individuals of the class and teaches students basic theory and specific performing techniques. All students who take this class must audition for honors ensembles hosted by colleges and perform in a school concert.

Beginning Guitar
The most popular instrument in the world is the Guitar. Beginning Guitar lays out the basics of playing tablature, chords, transposing, transcribing and strumming, to name a few. This class is open to any High School student who can supply a guitar. Expectations include a quarterly presentation on a guitarist of choice, periodic playing tests, written quizzes and performing as a group at concerts.

Junior High Choir
This course is designed to offer vocal music education and performing opportunities for junior high school students. The primary focus of this ensemble class will be to study vocal performance techniques. Music theory and music history will also be elements in this class. Many different musical styles will be studied through the year.
This group will give several concerts through the year. The class will focus on music fundamentals, beginning performing techniques, and other music components suitable to the students that are enrolled in the class.

High School Choir
This course is designed to offer vocal music education and performing opportunities for high school students. The primary focus of this ensemble class will be to study vocal performance techniques. Music theory and music history will also be elements in this class. Many different musical styles will be studied through the year.
This group will give several concerts through the year, and they will attend a festival where they will be adjudicated by a panel of judges. The class will focus on music fundamentals, intermediate performing techniques, and other music components suitable to the students that are enrolled in the class.

Show Choir
Show Choir is a specialized ensemble that combines the performance arts of singing and dancing. The ensemble consists of Freshman through Senior students who passed a vocal and dance audition.  Show Choir meets twice a week during Study Hall. To prepare for performances, the Show Choir may have additional rehearsals throughout the course of the school year.
This group will give several concerts through the year, and they will attend multiple festivals where they will be adjudicated by a panel of judges.
